John Devine, PE

Senior Vice President | HDR, Inc.
Mr. John Devine serves as President and Principal of HDR|DTA (formerly Devine Tarbell & Associates, Inc). Mr. Devine has been involved in over 100 projects in the hydropower and water resources field over the past 30 years, 25 of those years as a consultant. In 1988, he co-founded HDR|DTA after starting up a hydropower division at E.C. Jordan in 1978. He served as Vice President of the Hydro and Natural Resources Group. He is a registered Professional Engineer and has worked throughout the country on a wide spectrum of projects including the planning, design, licensing, and operation of hydro projects. He has 30 years of experience in licensing and developing over 100 hydropower plants. Much of his experience in the last decade has been focused on relicensing and strategic planning. Mr. Devine served as Advisory Board Member at Free Flow Power Corporation. He served as President of the National Hydropower Association since 1998 and serves as its Member. In 2001, NHA bestowed on him their most prestigious award – the Henwood Award.
